Standard PVC is smooth, but standard ribbed strips are also available. Because of their raised surfaces, ribbed strips reduce drag on objects passing through, avoid wear and tear to the strip body, and reduce stick between strips.

In addition to PVC roll we offer separate mounting hardware and quick-strip. Quick-strip is pre-cut through 85% of the thickness at whatever length intervals you choose, so you can simply mount the strip and then easily tear it away from the roll!

Quick, easy, and convenient for closing off a single wall space that requires anti-static properties, single surfaces are a quick solution using wall- or ceiling-based mounts.

• Two-Sided Enclosure

Typically connected at a 90-degree angle, two sided enclosures are usually attached to walls at either end with a free-standing mount at the center.

• Three-Sided Enclosure

Much like the two-sided enclosure, the three-sided system is excellent for turning work-spaces adjacent to walls into self-contained static-free areas.

• Four-sided Enclosure with Sliding Track

Heavy Duty Strip Design

Strip doors work by providing a solid barrier when at rest by overlapping numerous PVC strips. These strips are easily moved by workers, trolleys, and forklifts, but they will remain closed against wind gusts and debris.

16"-wide strips are solid, impact-resistant PVC strips that are designed to be constantly struck by humans and machinery such as forklifts.

Depending on your preferred level of insulation, these strips can overlap anywhere from 33% to 100% of their width, assuring a quality seal when nothing is moving through the entranceway. A lower percentage of overlap will allow the strips to move more easily, whereas higher overlap provides a stiffer, more insulated surface.

What is welder’s burn?

Known by many names–welder’s flash, arc eye, welder’s eye, snow blindness–this condition is characterized by radiation injury to the eye. UV radiation is the most common form. The medical term is ultraviolet keratitis–effectively a sunburn to the cornea of the eye.

UV radiation happens all around us–we are constantly bombarded with UV radiation from the sun and from man-made sources, however much of this radiation is filtered out via ozone and other barriers, keeping ultraviolet rays at safe levels. However, even low concentrations of such radiation can cause permanent damage over long periods. So how can tinted welding curtains be utilized against these harmful rays?

Arc Flash Strip Curtains

Arc flash is an electrical explosion that occurs when two materials are insufficiently grounded and air serves as a conductor across the materials. Arc flash can produce deadly blasts and burn the skin, but more insidious is the damage the UV rays from it can do to the eyes in the form of flash burn. If these rays are not blocked they can inflict serious damage.

How serious is the damage from arc flash?

Welder’s burn can lead to a number of eye problems such as

· pinguecula – growth of non-cancerous nodules on the eye

· climatic droplet keratopathy – transparent tissue growth over eye

· squamous metaplasia – change of tissue properties in eye

· cancer of the eye

Direct results of flash burn can include blurred vision, chronic eye pain, and temporary or permanent blindness.

How to Protect Against Arc Flash

OSHA has numerous regulations governing protection against the numerous dangers caused by arc flash, including providing proper safety plans, equipment, and training. One excellent way to minimize UV radiation is through a UV-resistant barrier. What are industrial strip curtain doors?

What is the advantage of strip doors?

There are a number of reasons to choose industrial strip doors over more traditional barriers, such as hinge doors. For one, industrial plastic door curtains are less expensive–both to purchase and to ship. The barrier is comprised of over a dozen strips between 8″ and 16″ wide and as high as needed for the passageway, allowing for inexpensive shipping.
